Frequently Asked Questions
What is AccessPoint?
AccessPoint is the Microsoft 365-native operating platform for public-sector access and privacy. It runs the whole mandate — ATIP and FOI requests, privacy and algorithmic impact assessments, breach response, complaints, and a privacy risk register — inside your own Microsoft 365 and Azure tenant, without the cost, complexity, or data sovereignty concerns of legacy software.
How long does it take to deploy AccessPoint?
AccessPoint installs directly into your existing Microsoft 365 tenant. Basic deployment can be completed in minutes. Full configuration with jurisdiction-specific settings can be imported within minutes, and customized settings and team onboarding are typically done within days.
What Microsoft 365 licenses are required?
AccessPoint does not have any direct dependencies on Microsoft 365 licensing tiers. It runs as a web part hosted on a SharePoint page or as a Microsoft Teams app, so any user with access to SharePoint or Teams can use it.
Does AccessPoint require a separate database or servers?
No separate servers to buy or manage. AccessPoint's backend — App Service, Azure SQL, and storage — deploys into your own tenant's Azure subscription from a one-click template, and the interface runs in SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams. Everything stays inside your Microsoft 365 and Azure tenant; there is no third-party hosting and no vendor-held database.
Which jurisdictions are supported?
AccessPoint ships with jurisdiction packs for 106 access and privacy regimes across Canada, the United States, Europe, and beyond — each preloading the statute's deadlines, exemptions, fees, notification rules, and terminology. See the full list on the Solutions page. Your administrator can adjust any pack or configure additional regimes through the built-in settings, and our team is available for hands-on guidance.
Is training available?
Yes! We offer comprehensive training programs for Access Officers, Custodians, and Administrators. Training is available on-site, remotely, or as self-paced materials. Visit our Onboarding & Services page for details.
